Seagrass training at Woodman's Point, Western Australia

On 24th January 2015, WADDI went on an exploratory dive at Woodman Point with seagrass expert Dr. Mike Van Keulen from Murdoch University.

The aim of this expedition was for volunteer divers Alicia Sutton, Cecile Decazes, Eloise Ashworth, Grace Keast, Kevin Smith, Paul Day and Sam Jones to practice their seagrass species identification techniques in preparation for the Seagrass-Watch pilot program scheduled in March at Rottnest Island.

We thank Dr Mike Van Keulen for his guidance and for sharing with us his wealth of knowledge on seagrass communities.
